My moment of clarity came from a simple question a colleague asked about my life insurance. In a single sentence, he exposed a massive gap in what I believed was a solid plan and it stopped me cold. 

How had I missed something so obvious?

When I first secured life insurance for myself and my children, we owned one home. The coverage was designed to pay off that house, protect my kids, and preserve their stability.
